When The Rabbit Trial is the Point

I've been very blessed by a series of sermons on Mark that we've been having at our church. In one recent sermon, Pastor Bryan (right) spoke about the incident in Mark 6:45-56 where Jesus walked on the water after the disciples had been straining at the oars all night. I would recomend the sermon, which is available to download HERE. Pastor Bryan (right) made some good points of application, including the following:

"When we are in the middle of doing what God wants us to do, when we are straining against the oars because the wind is against us, let us never forget that this is precisely where God wants us to be....

"Sometimes it’s not the destination that’s the point; it’s the lessons that we learn along the way. And that is what Jesus is communicating to [his disciples] on this occasion.... God wants us to get somewhere, and that place is not necessarily where we think we’re going....

"We fail to see the glory of God in our situation because we are constantly assuming that our situation is not what God wants. C.S. Lewis once wrote, 'The great thing, if one can, is to stop regarding all the unpleasant thing of one’s own or real life. The truth is, of course, that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one’s real life – the life God is sending one day by day.'"

(Btw, does anyone know why blogger has stopped putting things in single space? Has anyone else who uses blogspot run into the same problem?)
